SensisHealth, the dedicated healthcare marketing practice within Sensis, is looking for an engaged and inquisitive mind to support research and strategy development for multiple healthcare clients – as well as providing active assistance with business development. This is a unique entry-level position, melding administrative duties with opportunities to develop skills needed for a career in healthcare marketing.


SensisHealth creates and executes marketing, advertising and communications strategies for the healthcare industry. We reach all patient communities, with specific expertise in Hispanic, African American, LGBTQ and Asian communities – and our work is underpinned by a passion for health equity. SensisHealth works with hospitals, health systems, health insurers, non-profits and pharma companies to engage patients, caregivers, and clinicians. Our responsibility spans all four Sensis offices in DC, Austin, Atlanta and our LA headquarters, where the position will be based.

This position is as unique as our agency – we need a rare blend of thinker and doer, a self-starter with a career focus on healthcare or public health, as well as experience in the digital realm. The ideal candidate should understand the overall healthcare industry (providers, payers, pharma, public health and advocacy), media and technology, be curious about how consumers make healthcare decisions, and have exposure to diverse cultures.

The Jr. Healthcare Strategist will support developing and conducting formal and informal research to obtain deep consumer insights. This person’s work will directly inform the development of integrated marketing and communications solutions, working across the diverse cultural spectrum of today’s healthcare industry. They will support strategy development for all SensisHealth client work in creative, content development, paid media, earned media and digital experiences. SensisHealth’s new Jr. Healthcare Strategist will succeed by leveraging excellent written and verbal communications skills, by respectfully listening to, interacting and collaborating with a wide range of people, and by displaying humility and a high emotional quotient.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source secondary research data and develop accurate and insightful conclusions
  • Generate and analyze data to support SensisHealth’s strategic POVs, and find new and innovative ways to package and visualize data in ways that facilitate decision-making
  • Support the design and implementation of primary research that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic planning process
  • Assist in developing internal creative and media briefs that provide clear, persuasive, and actionable information
  • Monitor and interpret emerging cultural, social, and healthcare marketing trends
  • Draft highly-structured presentations using PowerPoint, Word, Excel, infographics, with an eye toward finding new, more innovative presentation tools
  • Work in concert with the larger Sensis agency’s Strategy department, integrating healthcare subject matter knowledge and data to their efforts
  • Work proactively with our DX, UX, Creative, Media and Account Management colleagues in all Sensis offices to provide needed support and input for advertising, social media, earned media campaigns and other agency initiatives
  • Flawlessly coordinate, organize and execute teleconferences, webinars, client and internal presentations
  • Provide daily administrative support to the SVP, Managing Director, and other agency leaders as needed – assisting in organizing, scheduling, balancing and managing limited time and resources
  • Actively support new business activities including developing presentations and proposals and arranging client meetings

Expected Skills

  • Expert in generating research reports, presentations, white papers, and drafting client communications
  • Demonstrable expert-level use of all Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, video conference calling and screen sharing, and other interoffice communications tools
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in an organized, highly-focused manner within a fast-paced, hectic office
  • Ability to locate and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as trade journals, research reports, white papers and cross-tabulated survey data
  • Proficiency in data analytics and data visualization
  • Proven ability to effectively present to internal audiences
  • Curiosity and desire to learn and share new knowledge
  • Detail orientation, yet unfazed by ambiguity

Qualifications

  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • 1-2 years of work experience working in a marketing function with a healthcare or public health organization, or a healthcare advertising agency
    • Ability to organize and execute teleconferences, webinars, client and internal presentations
    • Proven experience and competency working with multiple cultures and diverse communities
  • Preferred
    • Experience with primary research, including quantitative (e.g., surveys) and qualitative (e.g., focus groups, ethnographies) is preferred
    • Multicultural (Hispanic, African-American, Asian, etc.) marketing or research experience
    • Knowledge of private and public health insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare
    • Digital advertising and data analytics experience highly prioritized
    • Experience using Simmons, Geoscape and other syndicated research tools
  • Commitment to population health and underserved communities will be highly prioritized
