Business Development Associate – Government
Sensis is a full-service advertising agency providing advertising and marketing services, and Web site development for government agencies and private industry. We are looking for a Sales & Business Development Associate – Government to join our growing Washington, DC office. The SBDA will identify, qualify, and analyze new business opportunities primarily in government agencies. We are looking for a professional who is able to devise, sell-in, and ultimately close marketing and website development solutions to decision-makers.
The person in this position should have five years experience selling advertising agency and Web site development services, with strong skills in sales and business development within the Federal market and a proven record of success with government clients such as DHS and other civilian agencies. A proven producer will be measured against performance in generating new business and strategic relationships.
Responsibilities
· Build client relationships with government agencies and identify key decision-makers
· Expand client relationships with existing government agency clients
- Identify high potential government agencies and develop acquisition strategies
- Drive the business development process from initial lead to deal closure
- Build deal pipeline and manage to a corporate financial forecast
- Lead client presentations
- Serve as primary point of contact: control information flow and content, facilitate and drive meetings
· Participate in appropriate trade groups and organizations
- Expand our business partnerships through relationship development with companies that offer complimentary services
· Work within the firm’s marketing plan and tactical implementation program
· Develop an opportunity pipeline and revenue growth plan to meet the strategic growth plan of the agency.
Skills Required
· A passion for business development through direct sales and partnership opportunities

· Desire to work in government business development in DC metro area
· Presentation development skills and ability to deliver a strong sales demonstration, with
emonstrated strong communication skills
· Five years experience selling advertising agency and Web site development services
· Ability to understand and present technology based products
· Quick thinker with the innate ability to intelligently counter objections and propose reality based solutions
· Outstanding organizational skills: must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deals
· Strong execution and follow-up skills
· Understanding of government contracting vehicles and processes, strong knowledge of GSA Schedule procurement practices and procedures, and broad familiarity with government (FAR) contracting principles and acquisition process
· Understanding of client needs and requirements and proven ability to develop creative solutions
· Team player, with a collaborative style
Qualifications
- B.S or B.A. degree
- Government agency experience preferred
- Experience with Department of Homeland Security strongly preferred
- Diversity / multicultural marketing experience a plus
- Spanish-speaking capabilities a plus
- Federal Business development / sales experience a plus
- Strong written communication skills a plus (i.e. ability to write succinct, organized and compelling business proposals and emails)
