We are experiencing rapid growth and looking to hire an experienced Creative Director to both lead our Creative team, and be a key member of our agency management team.  Our ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of advertising agency experience with at least six years in a senior leadership role.
 
You are proud of your work, but realize it really belongs to the client and the customer. You are not cynical or inflexible, and you are not all about your portfolio.  We prefer candidates with strong digital experience, with full-service marketing and advertising production in your background along with an understanding of cross-cultural/multicultural marketing. 
 
If you have run your own small shop, or been a Creative Director at a large shop but welcome an opportunity to make an impact without being caught up in corporate politics, this is the right position for you.  Environment and opportunity is most important to you – no egos please.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the overall creative direction and execution of client branding and marketing campaigns, the creative quality and profitability of client projects, and the operational readiness of the creative team, all in fulfillment of our brand promise to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that our creative remains at the industry's leading edge
  • Maintain consistently high standards for yourself and the creative team
  • Guide the professional development of each member of the creative team
  • Deliver strategic communication solutions that help our clients attain their marketing and communications objectives
  • Collaborate in and contribute to the creative process as a leader of a creative team
  • Present cohesive and persuasive rationales for campaign approaches
  • Lead the process of concept/design and post-production execution
  • Support the creative direction of digital and social media projects
  • Work onsite at a client location in the Washington, D.C. area 

Primary Duties

  • Be the leader of the creative team and build a culture of teamwork and professional development.
  • Direct the activities and professional development of creative team members, including conducting staff reviews, taking corrective actions and recommending promotions
  • Study the creative marketplace and assess our work as compared to the very best in the market.
  • Work collaboratively with the account team to assure that internal and client deliverables are professionally executed on time,
  • Assure timely communication among the creative team and other internal and external project team members
  • Contribute to the strategic and creative development of the agency’s marketing and new business development 

Secondary Duties

  • Manage outside resources, including vendors, photographers, printers, and freelancers
  • Prepare job estimates
  • Quality control, including proofing, reviewing, measuring and evaluating staff creative output and project processes.
  • Continually evaluate, learn, and implement new technologies within the agency and for client campaigns.
