Description
This position is accountable for the planning, implementation and tracking of media plans. The Media Supervisor partners with the Media Director and/or Account Team to set the strategic tone for the assigned accounts. He/She assists in the creation of all important plans and presentations. The Media Supervisor is expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media space (including digital media), and available media research. You will also be responsible for managing a planning team -- developing their skills, evaluating their performance and managing their growth. In addition to core account assignments, the Media Supervisor is expected to take part in aiding with new business pitches, committees and task forces. IMPORTANT - You MUST be a digital media guru and savvy in the space for this role (i.e. 5+ years of DIGITAL-specific experience).

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Media Planning and Execution:
Manage preparation, development, execution and stewardship of media plans for specific clients and/or brands, and be accountable for supporting the team 
Develop ability to independently manage all aspects of the brand
Develop and maintain time-lines for all projects
Balance, prioritize and properly assign work associated with multiple, concurrent projects
Act as a final resource for all inventory, billing and invoice discrepancies
Serve as a resource for planners and assistants for advice, counsel and mentorship
Work closely with publishers to deliver, implement and optimize all digital placements
Engage with team to develop tagging/reporting strategy, and report on campaign effectiveness
Finalize and present Digital Media Objectives and Strategy documents to client
Review RFPs and approve partners selected for final plan
Manage negotiations for high value and/or complex media packages
Participate and support AMD/Media Director in new business
Develop strong relationship with clients and media vendors
Manage the flow of client media-related issues - create solutions and resolve problems
 
Client & Internal Relationships:
Maintain client relationships at appropriate levels
Grow business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate
Look to identify opportunities to offer agency service line offerings to existing clients
Lead face to face client and vendor meetings
Participate and present in New Business efforts and presentations, where appropriate
Ability to direct and appropriately delegate tasks to Digital Media Planner(s) and Assistant Planner(s) e
Actively participate in sales representative meetings
Maintain relationships with sales community
Demonstrates ability to confidently present and rationalize media plans to clients
Give and receive critical feedback

 
Strategic Thinking & Leadership:
Provide guidance to team members and nurture/promote team environment
Ensure key information is being provided to the team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.
Be approachable and solution-oriented when presented with problems/issues by staff and team
Is mindful of the client's point of view when reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client
Break down problems and issues into critical parts which can be resolved
Oversees management of specific projects as assigned
Oversee team activities, maintain overall quality control
Be an engaged member of the media industry, and proactively solicits and contributes innovative ideas
Motivate team to think outside the box
Encourage further media education 

Communications Skills:
Write in a clear, compelling and concise manner
Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially
Develop media presentation materials that are clear, compelling and persuasive
Adapt communication style to relevant audience
Establish and maintain communications process within Media group and internal teams
Constructively edit and review the writing of media documents (timelines, media focus, RFPs, plans, client memos, and correspondence)
Maintain frequent/as needed communication with the client and disseminate pertinent client information to the media team
Move audience to desired action through clear and persuasive delivery of information

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years experience as a Media Planner
Experience in traditional marketing and current knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional and digital media
Extensive Experience with Digital:
Hands on experience in the planning of display and paid social
Deep Experience w/ MediaMath, DFA and/or Sizmek. Sizmek preferred
​Adwords and Analytics Proficiency (tagging, pixels, UTM codes, Spotlight Tags, VersaTags)
Demonstrate where you have used data driven insights to achieve business goals with integrated campaigns for your clients
Outstanding analytical and communication skills – demonstrating the ability to empower as opposed to simply delegate
Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively
Strong math skills and understanding of Microsoft tools required (Excel including pivot tables, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word)
Skilled at New Business Pitches
