Technical Writer Intern

The Technical Writer Intern position will support our team in writing effective technical and marketing literature (writing articles, case studies, customer success stories, white papers, blog posts, and whatever other forms are appropriate) and new business proposals.

Part Time – 9am-5pm up to four days per week
June – August/ September
Pay: $10/hr

Responsibilities
  • Provide creative and technical writing support for complex marketing and communication materials.
  • Plan, edit, proofread, make or obtain required corrections, and manage production of all outgoing written products.
  • Develop writing solutions that provide a consistent message about our company and services while being creative and engaging.
  • Working closely with our team to write and support the development of winning RFPs, RFQs, task orders, and RFIs
  • Prioritize, plan and manage multiple writing projects simultaneously according to deadlines.
  • Ensure all materials meet internal and external business standards and follow appropriate standards, guidelines, and approval processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Provide input and writing for best practices, style guides and templates.
  • Perform in-depth editing of draft proposal responses for clarity, flow, tone, voice, readability, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling
  • Conduct final reviews of documents for design, layout, and editorial aspects.
Qualifications
  • BA or BS
  • Extensive writing experience  
  • Works with little supervision or oversight
  • Marketing and advertising knowledge
  • Marketing research experience preferred
  • Motivated and enthusiastic
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • High standards for quality of thinking and output
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Masters or PhD candidate preferred
  • Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
